Philosophy of Teaching
I believe that every student can be successful in math. After home-schooling my own children, I returned to college to become a teacher. While attending college, I heard a quote that impacted me: “As a teacher, your students will be only as strong as your weakest subject.” Mathematics was my weakness, so I earned my B.A. with an emphasis in mathematics. After I was employed at a high school, I returned to college to earn the Single Subject Credential in Mathematics. Among my greatest joys are seeing those “Aha” moments on my students’ faces and increasing my students’ confidence in math which allows them to complete their math requirement and graduate.
